The world’s premier trade fair for industrial technology takes place in Hanover from 1st to 5 th April 2019, opening the doors to 6.500 exhibitors and 220.000 visitors from around the world. In this fair are represented the main technologies for the industry, from R&D, to industrial automation, IT, industrial supply, technologies and production services, technologies and services related to energy and mobility.
This is so a world-class meeting place for the industry. Hannover Messe aims to boost the digital transformation of the industry and this year the theme of the fair will be “Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence”. The Portuguese Engineering & Tooling Cluster, which integrates the Tooling and Plastics Industries from Portugal will be present, showcasing their capabilities as engineering providers to support global clients with advanced and Innovative technologies, representing a one-stop-shop for product engineering and development.
Portugal exports more than 90% of its national Tooling production and Germany represent the second market exporting 21%, and in the last six years the Portuguese Tooling Industry has grown more than 100%, integrating more than 3.500 qualified workers. Innovation is one of strategic pillars for the development of this Industry, considering its involvement with a large set of research and innovation project (representing more than 42M€, 100 SME and 50 RTO’s).
In this context, Pool-Net – Portuguese Tooling & Plastics Network, representing the Portuguese Engineering & Tooling Cluster, will be present at the event with a both, assuring the promotion of the Cluster collective’s brand.
The main competences to support global clients of the Portuguese Industry for Mouldmaking, Special Tools and Plastics, are quality, know-how, technology and innovation, social sustainability, networking and reliability.
Considering the recognition of this Cluster’s Industries importance by the Portuguese Government (because they are within the critical path for product development, have multisectorial impact and are examples for the Industries of the future (Industry 4.0) ), this participation at HANNOVER MESS represents also a good example for the public and private partnerships, because the action integrates also the HIGHSPOT Project, co-finaced by PORTUGAL 2020 programme, contributing to reinforce the global competitiveness of the portuguese Industry.
Portugal is the world’s eighth-largest mouldmaking country and currently exports over 90% of its production to more than 80 countries. This industry is highly internationalized and technologically updated having made huge investments during the recent years on innovative technologies and processes, namely in modern five-axis machines & software, automation, paperless sollutions, lean management methodologies, additive manufacturing, environmental sollutions, etc. These strategic investments are reinforcing the Cluster capacity, specialy on Design for Manufacturing and Zero-Defect Production, positioning these Industries at a global high level standard.
At the same time, education, training and skills development have been considered fundamental for the Cluster development, and initiatives like “Thinking Industry” (involving more than 20.000 students from secundary schools), and the “CPD – HUMAN CENTRED MANUFACTURING” (developed with Manchester University, targeting industrial managers), demonstrates the focus on atracting and promoting talents to Industry.
Finaly, the complementary competences of these portuguese industries, from design to product, reinforce the Cluster capacity to suport global advanced products development, taking advantage of several moulding technologies and specialy, plastic injection solutions, contributing to its international leadership.
We are at your disposal! Come to meet us at HANNOVER MESSE – Stand C64, from 1st – 5th April 2019. It will be a pleasure to welcome you and give you to know more about the skills of the “Engineering & Tooling from Portugal”.
